It was 45.8 degrees in Sydney today, its hottest day on record. Unbelievably, it was only 27 inside my home so I didn't feel the heat till I went outside. Now a severe weather warning has been issued. Strong winds have blown trees over not far from here. It's extremely worrying.
- More than 95 fires are burning across NSW, including 14 that are uncontrolled.
- More than 700 firefighters, 200 trucks and 60 aircraft deployed.
- More than 100,000ha burnt statewide.
- Train services affected.

We also have a severe weather warning over most of the Uk with 6 inches of snow in our street and more falling. The temperature has been sub ZReo for days and the outlook is bleak, Still consider ourselves lucky when I see on TV the terrible scenes down under. so sorry for those Peolpe who have lost their homes.
It has been snowing for days over here, and we have got 8 inches of snow (20 centimetres). But this year there's a sufficient supply of salt to keep the pavements ice-free, and the snowploughs keep doing their work.
