Sad aftermath

Thousands of people are lining up to leave flowers for the siege victims.

The press has gone right over the top - it was NOT a terrorist attack, but a deranged man who happened to be a Muslim.  There are sieges like this maybe every week across Australia and they don't get any publicity.

For what it's worth, Russell Brand agrees with me:

Winifred, I hope your Philip and Janna have arrived safely.  I hate it when family/friends are in the air.

It was LOVELY to get a Skype surprise last night from a German epal!  I was absolutely thrilled.

I agree entirely about the tragic events in Australia - agree with you that is not with Russell Brant
whatever he says. It is too easy to be in the wrong place at the wrong time nowadays and then somebody has to be blamed by the press. Two lovely lives destroyed and many people scared by the events for a very long time.
Philip and Janna are now safely in Oregon with Janna's mum so I will sleep better tonight. I have to admit that I was worried about Philip being entry to US as you hear such silly stories. It has taken him the best part of two years and a great deal of money (for certificates and copies from both countries) he's thinks he has almost bought Oregon and the Immigration Officer hardly gave his papers a glance but simply waves him through. It is an exciting new life for them both now and thankfully they have Janna's mum close by. xx
