A visit to the country

My sister lives in Goulburn (one hour this side of Canberra) and I drove down on Tuesday afternoon and back on Wednesday, leaving at midday.  It was -3 in the morning, with a frost, something we never see in Sydney.  I bought the heavy wool jumper in Canberra years ago and can seldom wear it as it's not cold enough here, but was very glad of it yesterday.

Weird.  Just as I was going to explain the tombstone picture, a message:  'He's dead, Jim' flashed onto the screen and the computer restarted itself!!!!  I love visiting old cemeteries and on the way home turned into this one outside Berrima to take some photos.  And, as if this wasn't weird enough, a piano piece just started playing and that file isn't even open!  Talk about gremlins in the computer.

Early Saturday morning I picked the family up from their three weeks in Japan.  It's lovely having them home safely.  I always worry when other people fly, though never when I'm in a plane myself.

Have been really exhausted lately - stayed in bed all day Monday and went to bed when I got back from Goulburn about 3 yesterday.  Even now, at 8:46 am, I'm very, very tired.

I love walking round old Cemeteries too Diane, some of the Headstones in our local Church are dated in the 1700s

Great pic of you Diane. I was wondering what the shining things behind you were then realised the sun on the plaques made them look strange.
If you see any interesting or funny epitaphs (Frank and Diane) please tell me as I am under orders from our son who is writing his second
book which I am told is about a young man who after a serious head injury can see the whole story of a persons life as he looks at the graves when out walking. Apparently it will be a different story per chapter. I think he expects me to find the epitaphs whilst he writes the story. He's written lots of stories and articles but we're not rich yet! xx

Winifred - would you be able to keep us informed of of his progress as I would be very interested in reading this book when it comes out

Yes I'll keep you all informed of it's progress from my luxury penthouse flat (after he's banked a healthy cheque or two) after all he does expect me to do some of the legwork. I am visiting Arnos Vale in Bristol next week where many slaves and slave traders are buried. Oh our history is so shameful but you have to learn from it don't you? x
